I agree with a lot of what you say about the process. The problem is, when your guy (speaking in the hypothetical "you" not KLP specifically) gets shredded, you are outraged. When your guy's opponent gets shredded, you stand up and cheer because the worthless, lying bastard got his deserved comeuppance.

Both sides know that shredding works. Both sides know their loyal base will stand up and cheer the spectacle as the chunks of flesh come off the victim.

So both sides keep doing it.

Who would you like to see run for each party? And who do you think is best-equipped to handle the challenges you expect 2009-2016?

Previous topic - we haven't elected an actual war veteran since Bush, Sr., and Nixon before that (WW2 Navy officer). We seem to prefer the slick "I had something better to do than get shot at" crowd from both parties: Reagan twice, Clinton twice, Bush, Jr. twice.
