We have to tag our deer and bring them to a registration station before leaving that zone. Often they will have DNR people at the registration stations who with your permission will do age and health surveys on your deer. As much as the DNR can jack me at times I must admit they have built quite a herd. I think we kill more deer then any other state and our first season was about 1930 because there were no deer. My grandfather trapped and traveled this whole area and remembers clearly in his teens seeing the first deer he had seen in Dunn county. Today we are over populated if anything.
