Palm releases unlocked GSM Treo 650 ROM update Improved performance is the main component of this update. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- posted 10:24am EST Thu Jan 19 2006 - submitted by palmsolo BLURB Cingular Treo 650 owners were offered a ROM update for their devices in November, and now Treo Updater 1.2 is available for unlocked GSM Treo 650s. The update incorporates previous updates, and also includes improved memory handling for larger Web pages, improved Bluetooth performance, improved voice quality, improved device performance for heavy data usage (such as e-mail or Web downloads), updated Versamail with Gmail support, masked entry of passwords in the Web browser, and more. Make sure to backup and HotSync your device before performing the update. Check out the TreoCentral forum thread where people have been reporting their experiences with the update if you want to see if it's worth it.
