Seapick - You've brought up an interesting point. When I originally bought into GTE(formerly ADGI) they also had a huge float and a low S/P. Like PLNI they had problems that had to be addressed but also had bright prospects. They also knew that they had to get off the OTCBB in order to obtain the type of financing they needed to continue growing. In order to be listed on AMEX they had to do a reverse split. Before they did the split they had a couple of runups while still on the BB, one to .19 and another to .36. I'm still kicking myself for not selling during those runups and then buying back in when the share price deflated back to normal. I held my shares and still have a major position but I'd have a lot more if I had done so.
PLNI shows the potential to have a couple of healthy runups before they eventually have to deal with reality as you suggested. I'm advising everyone here to make sure to take some profit off of the table when this happens and they buy back in later. You'll still end up hold a major position and be able to share in the future growth of the company
