There are also bomb sniffing machines that can detect parts per billion of explosive residues on peoples clothing and in their baggage. These have been in use for about a decade now. I was once subjected to just such a random search at the airport in Tucson, AZ back in 1998, long before terrorism was the buzz word.

I agree, there is no reason why we can not find Bin Laden. He is our government's useful idiot. As if there aren't desperate people in that part of the world who would give away his location for the right price (we've got plenty of money). And with all our technology, is there really any excuse for not already having him in custody? More like, we either don't want him in custody because then the party is over or he is dead and what we are seeing is a creation of the military/intelligence community. Considering the dastardly deeds these people have engaged in over the decades, the second option must be considered seriously.
