Actually, having just spent quite a while talking with ptanner about it, we've come to what is hopefully a reasonable interim solution. First of all, there really are no good options! :) Given all the trade-offs and whatnot involved (many of which are not obvious at first), hopefully we've reached something that will be useful for at least another quarter or two, at which time we can reassess, and possibly make wholesale changes (e.g. drop a category or whatever).

We're going to leave the Intel contest completely unchanged.

For AMD, here are the category changes:
OLD CATEGORIES    NEW CATEGORIES
==============    ==============
Total Rev         AMD Total Rev (i.e. flash not included)
CPU Rev           AMD CPU Operating Income (CPU profit)
Flash Rev         Spansion Total Rev
EPS               AMD EPS
Stock Price       AMD Stock Price

Becase the NEW "AMD Total Rev" is very similar to the OLD "CPU Rev", we decided to change what would have been a redundant CPU Rev to CPU Operating Income.

I think this overall package strikes a balance between not too much work for me in terms of website/spreadsheet changes while keeping 5 useful and interesting contest categories.
