John, Hope the market makers take note of Royale's new find.. as they continue on their upward path to increasing production and stockholder value. This well adds to production in one of the best gas markets in the US.. California. This is also continued good news for their direct working interest drilling program participants, and will add $$ quickly to their monthly production checks... :-)

They are two for two so far in their 1997 five well drilling program and the three wells remaining have much higher production potential. Their first one, the Bowerbank 7 was a very nice well (2.8 mcf).

Royale Energy Inc. Drills A New Gas Well Discovery

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 16, 1997--Royale's North Willows 2-7 well encountered commercial gas sands within the Kione formation.

The well successfully completed and tested at 929 MCF gas/day from 23 feet of perforations in the Kione sands.

The well is located in the prolific Willows-Beehive Bend gas field, Northern Sacramento Valley, Glenn County, Calif. The Willows 2-7 is Royale's second gas well drilled in the Kione Willard area of the field. Overall, the 2-7 is Royale's fourth gas well in the field,
which includes the Willows 1-7 drilled in 1996 as a new pool discovery and the Pinheiro 1-10 well drilled in 1994 earning the well of the year and play of the month distinctions from Hart Oil and Gas World.

The Willows-Beehive Bend field was discovered in 1938 by the Kione Willard well close to Royale's 2-7 well. The Royale 2-7 well is an example of a new gas well discovery using modern seismic analysis in an older, proven gas area.
