interesting comment from latest CI:

We personally plan to hold all energy exposure for now. After all, in true long term bull markets, so often the very hardest thing to do is nothing. It's extremely hard in this go-go information overload world to simply identify a long term bull market, position for it, and then just watch the day go by.

yeah, it is hard, but not as hard as "doing something" like daytrading away profits to the taxman and missing the big legs up. as for watching the day go by...that's why God invented hobbies -g-.

i would also say that, as a long-term investor, i believe one must be committed to holding through painful drawdowns. therefore, it is important to know the allocations one is comfortable with, because when the drawdowns come, the temptation to sell is almost irresistable. if you bite off more than you can chew on the upleg, you will surely find out on the downleg when you hit the sell button in the red.
