Brian, I think INTC will modify its' business strategy to
regain market share lost to AMD (remember I was an AMD fan
over INTC all of last year). I would prefer to see INTC
acquire other up and coming niche technology companies that
are positioned to take advantage of newly developing products
and technologies. WiMax will be HUGE for INTC on a global
basis and there is an opportunity to usurp the business of
the telecom companies like cable and wireless providers
because WiMax will be able to offer all forms of broadband
communications to mobile products that are currently provided
by cell phones and cable, and do it cheaper and better from
an infrastructure investment point of view. I'm wondering if
WiMax technology could eventually be adapted to satellites
or high altitude stationary hovering platforms on a global scale?
I see no reason why it couldn't be adapted and provide total broadband/VOIP
using satellite or high
altitude transciever platforms. Have I whetted your
long term investing instincts? Think about the global
opportunities for massive growth and development and the
incursions that will occur into the existing technology
infrastructure. All it takes is some vision and a
vocalized strategic plan and INTC goes to $50+ within
2 years, IMO.
