Kendle forms biometrics unit
Friday January 20, 9:38 am ET

Kendle International Inc. has formed a global biometrics operating unit which will offer clinical data management, biostatistics and scientific programming services on a stand-alone basis and as part of full-service clinical development contracts for customers, including seven of the world's 10 largest biopharmaceutical organizations.

Cincinnati-based Kendle (Nasdaq: KNDL - News), appointed Gregg Dearhammer to lead the new division.

Kendle's biometrics services previously were organized under its Americas and Europe operating units and its Late Phase unit.

President and COO Christopher Bergen said biometrics is an area of outsourcing opportunity for the company.

Dearhammer will lead Kendle's biometrics business, which includes data centers in the United States, Europe, Australia and Mexico staffed by 500 associates.

Dearhammer most recently served as a project group leader responsible for biometrics services in North America and Latin America for Kendle.
