I am leaving the stock brokerage business at the end of the month. It just isn't my cup of tea. I kept saying, when I hit this number or accomplish that, it will get better. And there's always another number and never a better. <G> I actually love about 85% of what I do at work every day. But the other 15% really stinks. And the 15% is starting to encroach on the 85%. The investment side is shrinking in focus and the legal compliance and financial handholding side is increasing.
I have great respect for the folks who make it in this business without hanging themselves, and there are many of them. If I needed the money, I could stay on. But, I want to give playing poker online full time a shot, to see if I can do as well 8 hours a day as I do for one or two hours a day.
I will continue to post on SI, and in Feb, my writing will no longer be restrained. I will not spend as much time as I did before I took a job, as poker will be my job. But I will be freer to tell it like it is.
For my clients, thanks for the support and I hope you like the new brokers assigned to your accounts. I will be introducing a few folks, when we can get 3 time schedules to allow.
I feel like a gorilla is off my back. <G> |
