On Thursday, National Public Radio reported on the UCLA ?Bruin Alumni Association? (BAA), which has recently offered to pay university students to help ?expose faculty? -- dubbed ?the dirty 30? -- who they believe are ?left wing radicals.?

According to the BAA there is a long list of UCLA professors whom they deem ?profoundly abusive? of conservative students and their ideas. The alumni organization has offered to pay students $100 over a 10-week period, during which time the students would record lectures and take detailed notes to document their professor?s teachings.

Some professors have denounced this effort as a campus witchhunt. One likened the tactics of the Bruin Alumni Association to those ?associated with Eastern Bloc police states.?

But, as the BAA had hoped, ?students say the Bruin Alumni Association hit list has already had a chilling effect on their classes.?

And according to the founder of the BAA, Andrew Jones, ?after students have documented abuses, his group will confront professors and demand changes. If necessary,? says Jones, "he?ll take his fight to the people of California.?
