You would think so. I can't think of any country in modern history that debased their currency and in the long run were graced with increased purchasing power. Mish avoids this aspect of reality by deciding that inflation and deflation has nothing to do with prices -- let alone purchasing power. I mistook his posts on deflation to mean we were having a conversation about deflation, not simply US money supply.
