Absolute proof of global warming: Naked woman spotted in downtown Duluth in January

Protester braves cold to make pointANIMAL RIGHTS: PETA activist was held briefly by police after disrobing at Superior and Lake.

BY MARK STODGHILLNEWS TRIBUNE STAFF WRITER

A nearly nude animal rights activist reduced herself to cuts of meat Thursday to argue that factory-farmed animals are made of flesh and blood and bone just as humans are.

Michelle Cho, 24, of Los Angeles, representing People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, sat on her discarded robe on the sidewalk at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Superior Street in Duluth at noon Thursday wearing only a black bikini bottom and pasties.

She held a sign over her breasts that read: "Have a heart. Go vegetarian. GoVeg.com."

Parts of Cho's body were painted as various cuts of meat: chuck, rib, loin, shoulder.

She didn't have to paint her goose bumps for them to be identifiable. It was 21 degrees, snowing and a cold 10 mph easterly wind was blowing down Superior Street.
