But in Sweden with Bredbandsbolaget: bredband.com "Via telejacket" is DSL I guess- 24 Mbit/s for about $50 per month "Via Bredbandsuttaget" is more like cable, is my guess- you get 100 Mbit/s for $60. $11 extra gives you POTS also. "the same flawed assumptions as our Finnish friend Tero" -it´s been pretty boring here since he stopped writing but much of the debate then was about the future dominance of WCDMA. Well, here we are, the whole board, now wishing he was right. WCDMA is now our future and we cheer it like we used to cheer CDMA 2000. BTW, I was really interested in what Viterbi said: Message 22073148 I have to admit that I agree, to my surprise. Since Podcasting started (video & audio) I realize that almost all of my needs for media "on the go" can automatically be downloaded at home for free and consumed using a tiny iPod. I would never use up my cell phone battery playing music or Podcasts. I need two separate devices. Whatever I need to download on my phone e.g. a live weather radar, I can do with 2.5 G. Maybe it´s also the "walled garden" that US Telcos insist on. I hate not being able to surf on my phone like on my PC at home. It used to be easier but since Cingular bought AT&T (my carrier)it´s harder to freely surf. I also hate to pay by the Mbit and I don´t need all you can eat $60 per month. I couldn´t wait for wireless 3G and now I don´t care. Lars
