The reason you don't have a right to "say it though a megaphone in the middle of the night.", is that doing so amounts to an assault on people. I also don't have a right to barge in to your house and make a political speech and not leave when you tell me to do so.

Campaign ads do not resemble "megaphone's in the middle of the not" (unless that is the actual method used, in which case its likely to backfire). They communicate political ideas and positions, which is the core of the 1st amendment, the reason for the 1st amendment. The founders of our country did not put the 1st amendment in place to protect pornography (although absent coercion, which is assumed for things like child porn and may be present in other forms, I think it should be legal as well) but to allow political speech.
