Quincy!
"Doesn't change the fact Qualcomm fixed your WCDMA and HSDPA standard"
What are you referring to? QCOM hasn't fixed anything what I know of.They are one of many members of 3GPP.There was a lot of criticism about for example asynchronous basestations from the QCOM camp.It wouldn't work in a good way. It's very quiet now. Also HSDPA base stations uses the same type of synchronization.
Can you give me one example where a QCOM CR in 3GPP has altered the original standard in a significant way.I have all the respect for the technical skills of people working for QCOM but I think they shouldn't take credit for what other people has created. If they have done so. I don't know what is the origination of that myth that QCOM fixed the WCDMA standard. But it's time to face the fact. There are a lot of companies with an excelent knowledge of CDMA and other airInterface technologies. If QCOM would seize to exist as a company it wouldn't make a big difference.Other companies have done so before and can in the future develop standards without the help of QCOM.
