West Wing bites the dust. I have never watched the show but this paragraph kind of jumped out at me. news.yahoo.com; "The West Wing" announcement wasn't much of a surprise. Although this season's story line with a presidential campaign involving a Democrat played by Jimmy Smits and Republican portrayed by Alan Alda has been strong critically, ratings have sunk with its move to Sunday nights. When are they and their critics going to at least entertain the thought that they aren't mainstream and are in fact quite far out of it? We still don't have the gay shepherds playing in my area though I would think it would come at some point but my wifes grandma talked of how good it looked in the ads on tv. Wife said do you realize this is about a couple of rump rangers playing nasty behind their wives backs? She had no idea. It didn't occur to me why since I do so much reading online until a letter to the editor in todays paper. Is it just me, or did I miss the previews for “Brokeback Mountain” that even somewhat alluded to the fact that it is about gays? Based on the trailers seen on TV you are led to believe it’s a love story about cowboys. Cowboys and their wives/girlfriends, not cowboys and cowboys! It went on from there but the other statement they made that seems true is anyone not reading online is being mislead and not realizing they are going to a gay love story. Interesting. They must realize how out of the maistream they are if they think they need to mislead by omission to get folks to come to their "Love Story".
