Oil is in your local garbage dump. Seriously, there are companies turning waste products from turkey waste to just plain garbabe into oil by speeding up the natural process that took millions of years to make the oil we extract from the earth to a few hours for synthetic oil from waste.

This waste to energy technology is rather primative, but there are actually some working plants out there turning out 2,000 barrels of oil per day. The cost is around $30 a barrel, so they are profitable, as long as they can secure the waste at a reasonable cost.
