I can see allowing the government protecting us in areas out of our control, like office buildings, but I am not certain about private establishments. Personally I don't eat in places that have poor ventilation or inadequate non-smoking areas, as I am very allergic to smoke and have chronic problems, but I had a visceral reaction to the City of Dallas making smoking illegal in all public restaurants a couple of years ago. I think the market should dictate this. For me, it smacks too much of the parent overseeing something that IS within our own control to manage (not going to certain places)and I wonder where they will venture next to "protect" us. I certainly can see your side, though, and I go back and forth.
