Hawk,
"The reality of history is that once the Ottoman Empire was defeated, the British and French followed historical precedent and decided how to carve up the spoils. Nothing knew about this. They did the same thing with the German colonies in the Pacific, as well as in Africa."
It may be nothing new, but is it kosher, is it ethical, is it moral?
Also, when the French and British carved up the Ottoman Empire, their responsibilities were to the people of those lands and what the British allowed was a situation whereby the majority culture was stiffed by not establishing a coalition government in Palestine to represent Jews, Moslems, and Christians, but did not prevent an invasion by Zionists from Europe and America to establish, through terrorist means, a "Jewish" state.
The British shirked their responsibilities to the Arab majority, ran away from their responsibilities, and created this mess.
"We need to insure that any Palestinian state does not facilitate or harbor totalitarian (secular or Islamic) values, or hostilities towards neighbors, to include Israel."
Now that the terror has provided the Zionists some degree of safety through military weaponry and blank checks from the American taxpayers, everyone should just forget about history without accountability and recourse?
If that was so, why do Holocaust survivors pound the drum about persecution and look for recompense?
Why two standards?
Must depend on who is doing the talking and who controls what is mentioned in the media outlets?
We cannot have lasting peace without justice.
