Think your idea makes sense. Shorting CEF and going long on GLD is probably a very conservative play. If a silver ETF is ever approved it will be even more difficult to understand how the high premium on CEF can be maintained.

BTW with the Friday premium on GLD being .178 at the close, I expect a delivery of physical gold into GLD today, Mon. 23, Jan.

True I am not sure if weekends lessen the predictive power of the premium but we shall see.
