<This is my view precisely> Concerns about the impact of the current account deficit on interest rates and the dollar are indeed well-founded. The "savings glut" is in large measure the externalization of our own bubble economics -- ironically we are dependent on this external bubble to finance the interest on our outstanding and ballooning debts. The longer it goes on, the larger it looms as a risk to our economic viability.
