GS guys are not crooks, they just get the heads up from appropriate people. Look at it as simply the most sophisticated kind of insider trading.

The elimination of 30 yr bond few years ago, they cleaned up very well at that time. And how about a surprise 50 basis point final cut by the Fed. Turned out GS was the only one on the street betting for 50, they made about 80 million that day prompting cries of fraud from eurodollar futures trading community.

Maybe they are just lucky.
