It was a country from which assassins were dispatched to kill Lawrence Foley. A country which tried to assassinate a former US President. A country which harbored the man who made the explosive used in the first attempt to bring down the WTC. the US has been in several wars in the past and none of the war time Presidents advocated the suspension of civil liberties of the very citizens who elected the President. You should bone up on your history. FDR locked up American citizens for being of Japanese ancestry. They even took little orphans out of orphanages and sent them off to camps. Lincoln suspended habeas corpus, locked up legislators. The Union Army closed the newspaper in my home town. There are many other examples.
