now why would gross margin be up? could it be that the acquired revenue has HIGHER gross margins?
now why would backlog be the "highest in years"? could it be that the the acquired businesses have brought with them BACKLOG?
My advice to you folks. Don't listen to em! That's right. It WILL get you in trouble because you all so want to believe in them. But most of them are rich beyond our wildest imaginations (even the ones that haven't left) and don't have to pay market prices for their stock. They get it handed to them. Don't be their patsies! Look ONLY at bottom line results. The numbers (not the products) are what count. A tech company will always have wizz bang products that sound great on a press notice. This company is still living off its past laurels and that was only due to a one time cataclysmic event called the internut bubble! This company has losses ahead of it for as far as the eye can see and a MAJOR restructuring ahead. Of course this predicted restructuring has been a long time coming but look at the results quarter after quarter after quarter. This company is STUCK in the mud. Its dysfunctional, led by a CEO who simply can't make the changes to rid it of its dysfunction because it would be an admission of failure. Its not that complicated!
