It is possible to override these biases, Dr. Westen said, "but you have to engage in ruthless self reflection, to say, 'All right, I know what I want to believe, but I have to be honest.' " This guy's premise is all wrong. He thinks everyone is pathological. I think most people start out searching for the truth and that truth and honesty is in the individuals best self interest for suvival and other reasons. It is just surprising that so many people get side tracked and become delusional.
