I think a lot of elective surgery is going to get performed overseas for 1/5 - 1/20 the cost. Yes I do. I think people will pay to fly to wherever to save 30K and more on elective surgery. And there are millions of people doing it right now. This was covered on "60 Minutes" so it isn't like I am forging new ground here.

Globalization hits every industry and there is nothing the US government is going to be able to do to force US consumers to overpay by a factor of 10 for the medical industry in the US. I'm not trying to start a jihad over this or anything but I'm just saying that these medical device companies who are selling equipment to US hospitals at 500K/pop might need to reevaluate their business model at some point.

As far as medicine that is a different story btw, I buy from Canadian pharmacies and am going to Mexico in a month to buy there.
