Syntel Opens Office in Singapore

TROY, Mich.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 17, 1997--Syntel, Inc. (NASDAQ:SYNT) announced today
it has opened an office in Singapore to focus on applications outsourcing, Year 2000 compliance, and
professional IT staffing business in the region. The office is a wholly-owned subsidiary called Syntel PLC
Ltd. Singapore.

The office, located in Suntec City (the high-tech capital of the area), will serve as a sales and delivery hub
for providing IT solutions to customers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.

This marks the third global facility Syntel has opened this year. The company opened an office in London in
July and a Global Development Center in Chennai, India last month.
