I worried before buying ENER that the company was perhaos to enthralled with its own technology, but I think article you posted overstates the negative. In particular, the dig that Ovonics amorphous silicon is less efficient than Crystalline Si is not substantial in my opinion. The raw efficency doesn't mean too much until we are limited by surface area. If Ovionics technology is, say, 10% less effiicient, then the area covered has to be 11% greater for the same output. The absolute size of the panels is limited by cost and weight. Only when an entire surface is given over completely to solar panels will the photovoltaic efficiency limit power output.
