yes well, in theory you are correct.
I just believe in my gut that after the tech bust, which nobody out here thought could *ever happen*, there isn't a management team in the world that isn't going to sell 20% of their holdings in the first 18 mos after IPO, now. In the 80s and 90s, the financial advisers that were pounding the drums for this level of diversification were ignored. No more. It doesn't mean anything about the underlying companies really. It just scared a lot of people.

Lets say Schmidt truly believes in his heart that GOOG will become as valuable as microsoft or more (I actually believe he DOES think this). Doesn't matter, because his family, friends etc. will bug him about diversification after reading about the AMCC guy who was wiped out. Just the reality now.
