fuchi, steve, dale champlin, anyone with a 534g,

I have a 534f, 6x86-200L, 32MB 50nS Micron EDO ram, 4MB matrox Mystique, maxtor hard drive, us robotics modem, pnp sound card,...

After using this system for a couple of months at 2*83MHz, I started getting lock ups and the blue screen of death (GPFs)! It was so solid for a while I thought I was home free at 166MHz. I've swapped video cards and still get the same lock ups.

To get the system stable, I had to go back to 2*75MHz :-(

I'm using the latest bios, have added 2 fans to the case, improved ventilation (more holes), and have used the same peltier cooler for the entire duration of this set up.

Should I try bumping up the voltage to 3.2? Will that just burn out the CPU?

Any ideas on what could have gone wrong?

Also, Powerleap makes an adapter for dual voltage CPUs ($50). Since the 534 does not offer a 2.9V setting, I thought you could use this adapter and get 2.9V. Kind of spendy for .1 V but I really like the 534 performance.

any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

steve h
