E. Charters, thanks kindly for your thoughts. What are the major things that would make a project "exciting"? I would imagine the total # of ounces of proved & probable reserves would be the largest single point of interest. Is this right or is it something else? Assuming this is right, is there some sort of cutoff point, below which the larger companies would not have an interest? Say Freegold puts out an NI 43-101 which says they have upwards of a million proved & probable ounces at Almaden. Would that change the picture much, or is that still not good enough to attract any interest? Does it make a big difference if the reserves are mostly just "probable" vs. "proved", or does the market still give some value to "probable" reserves?

I'm not surprised that the major gold companies passed on Almaden in the past. The guy that was calling the shots then (Harry Barr) seems to be too hard a negotiator. The new guy they have running this show, Steve Manz, is more realistic, and he has assured me that Harry has given him free reign to do deals as he sees fit. Harry apparently likes what he sees so far, having bought stock recently for as much as $.28.

Sorry to grill you with all these questions. Feel free to answer whichever ones, if any, that you care to and/or have the time for. I'm just trying to learn about this industry and as you can see I have a very long way to go!
