I'm sure that's true but, so far, I haven't noticed the appearance of any alternative "power centers", as you call them. Therefore, I argue that the decline of the Zionists would be more as result of their disastrous policies (as far as the US is concerned) than because of any competitive political nexus or agency. Indeed, both Republicans and Democrats are still intensely influenced by AIPAC and other pro-Israel agendas to the extent that the US identifies with Israel as if Israel was another American state. This is reinforced by the religious beliefs of the evangelists who exert a powerful influence on the people in the Bush administration who, as far as I am able to discern, are either evangelists themselves or else pro-Israel neocons.
