PS Tejek, how much does Toyota spend on health care per year?

Amy I've already admitted that they have improved their quality. However, look at the list again....pls. note that all Toyota brands are ranked 7th. However, with GM, only its expensive brands with the smallest sales are in the top ten. What would happen to GM's position if its best selling Chevy and Pontiac divisions were thrown into the mix? GM would not be in the top ten that's for sure.

And then there is this comment from JD Power:

"The problem is that "pretty good" has become "not quite good enough" in a world where quality standards have been raised so high and which many consumers still have bad memories of General Motors and Ford cars that have failed them in the past."

As for your question, I don't know how much Toyota pays its employees re. health insurance.......you indicate its less than GM.....but does that take into consideration that Toyota lays off employees much less frequently than GM, keeping employees on staff when instead of producing cars, they are simply sweeping the floors of the plant?

And what does the health costs have to do with producing cars that run right and are cool to look at? And why is Ford profitable and GM not......both deal with the same unions. I maintain my position that GM is a poorly run company.
