Re email confirmations, I think it is a bad idea. Etrade sends no email confirms, but they do send secured messages which are announced and viewed from within the secured site. I like it that way. I can check my trade history to get info, while on their secured site. They send snail mail confirms promptly and don't annoy me with mailed confirms of orders placed or changed - they only snail-mail confirms of buys and sells.

Lombard sends email when there is a buy or sell, but all it says is that there has been account activity, and check the account for specifics. Lombard is a small nuisance, with their snail-mail confirms of orders entered and changed.
