Right Wing Bias At Today
-- Lorie Byrd PoliPundit.com
This is pretty rich. From one of the Kos Kids:
<<< For the second time in a week, Katie Couric illustrates the right-wing bias in the media. This AM in her interview with Howard Dean, she adamantly repeated Rove & Co.’s assertion that Democrats as well as Republicans have taken Abramoff money. When Dean protested, she got tense and said it would have to be looked into and shared with all the Today Show viewers.
Write to Today and tell them that they need to do that, fairly and objectively, and present the truth on the air, along with her retraction and apology for slandering all the Democrats with charges of corruption. Contact her at TodayShowViewerMail@NBC.com.

There is more there about right wing media bias, blah, blah, blah. I can only imagine that if liberals had to live with the media “slant,” and often outright hostility, that conservatives have for the past few decades they would all be on the floor in the fetal position sucking their thumbs. Look at how hysterical one cable news channel (Fox) has driven them, for example.
We conservatives complain about media bias, but for goodness sake, there is so much of it against conservatives, and especially Republicans, that most of us just take it for granted. Look at the recent ABC News Nightline Scalia story alone. Video of Scalia (gasp) playing tennis was promoted with the reporter telling us that while Justice Roberts was being sworn in, Justice Scalia was relaxing at a resort paid for by the evil conservative Federalist Society. No mention that Scalia gave a speech*** while there which he had committed to months earlier, or that he didn’t accept payment for it, but only expenses. No mention that the speech was open to and attended by non-Federalist Society members, as well. I don’t know whether or not ABC News has issued an apology for the misleading story, but I doubt it. Liberals don’t have a clue what it is like trying to get a message through a hostile media filter.
*** Update: I received the following email from a Polipundit reader:
Actually, ABC bias was much, much worse than you describe.
Scalia didn’t go and make a speech - He co-taught a two day law course attended by about 100 lawyers. Most were members of the Federalist Society but the course was open to any lawyer paying the registration costs. Non-members were charged $5, or so.
The course started at 8 am each day and Scalia was there teaching for entire days’ sessions. He played one of hour of tennis each afternoon.
ABC was clearly informed of this and chose to do a hatchet job. They also are guilty of invasion of privacy as they were told that no filming was allowed and they trespassed onto the property and took film against the wishes of the organizers of the event.
(Hat tip to Polipundit reader, Susan.)
Update: What is up with Katie Couric lately? There have been some moments lately that I hardly recognized her.
