Regarding Almaden, another factor that has to be considered is that the project is in the Snake River Basin. Home of a few devoted and endangered salmon that are not afraid of hydroturbines or appearances in dozens of fish viewing windows on their journey to the Gem State to spawn. Permitting regulations are more stringent in the Snake and Salmon river basins than the west in general (Oregon, Montana, California and maybe Washington are arguably even worse). I'm not saying this is insurmountable, far from it, it is just another headwind Almaden faces.
