Believe this particular issue is centered on the absence of www and the use of ONLY HTTP. Sorry I cannot tell you how to translate between the two but you might try adding the HTTP for the host file addie.

Also, just as a piece of trivia, FF will handle url conversion (entry without www or without the http) only if one of the browser settings is so set otherwise the exact url must be entered in the address bar ... again do not remember which/where ... have lots of short term memory for issues at hand but once no longer a concern ... RAM is cleared for new stuff, lol.
