Dismiss her as a student ? The teacher would have lost his job... He might not have been able to find employment in the teaching field ever again. What bothers me so much is the ability of a student to defame a teacher with accusations that are nothing but malicious lies.. I have seen this when I was teaching but the administration was more supportive in those days of their teachers which was why we had such a good school with excellent teaching. Here's the scenario this one..The student is upset having been admonished for behavior unbecoming a student (sorry to have borrowed that ) and goes home, tells parents just enough of a fabricated story to enrage the father who, must be a piece of work anyhow... as the father I had would have believed that the teacher was right and I was wrong... (good old days).. or would have asked for a conference with the principal and discussed the matter and not taken the initiative to act on the situation into his own hands and melt out punishment.. AND society back in those days when life was much saner would not have embellished a story, made fiction into fact so quickly and let the incident, if there was one.. and the eventual solution.. take it's course.. Today.. the media grabs at anything for sensationalism and B OReilly is one of the worst.. His tirades about Christmas and the creches display was loony tunes... The latest debacle of dishonesty by James Frey whose book I touted here as being so relevant to working with RX addicts... which I had done has been unraveled as a bunch of made up stories to enhance what was purported to have been the truth of his experience in drug rehab. Goes back to my lament, whom can we trust and what happened to integrity and truth...??? Oprah had JF on her show yesterday and was really disappointed in his lies and has withdrawn her support. Startling show to have watched if any of you missed it. Enough rantings for today. (:)
