There is a war between the West and a small fraction of those who practice Islam. Most of the people who practice Islam are going about their daily lives peacefully trying to provide a better life for their families. To cast it as a war between Islamicism and the West is not only incorrect, it dooms us to failure- since those who practice Islam are not going to stop practicing it because we say we've got a war on, AND the way you frame it (as all about Islam) is likely to make all the followers of Islam more sensitive about their religion and more sympathetic to the radical fringe of Islam.
