In terms of the American political spectrum it wouldn't. Just look at his voting record. He is more left than Bush is right.

Neither of us would benefit even slightly from your putting up the detailed argument that would justify that. But let me give you one counter. Bush took Rove's suggestion in the 04 election and ran to his right. Get out the right wing base. Kerry did the classic thing of running to his left in the primaries and to the center in the general election. On that argument, positions taken in the campaign, Kerry is closer to center. But this is hardly worth debating.

As for the Gore arguments you make, it's apparent that argument is going nowhere. He's clearly a DLC kind of guy with a bit here and there to the left. To call him a slightly left of center Dem is about right.

But all of this positioning stuff is something just to kill a bit of time. Not going to move the earth one way or the other.
