re: Alliances are not Arabs' strong suit but Bush is changing that. Even Arabs who might agree with the US are getting turned off by Bush's lack of diplomacy. Whether true or not, he gives off the impression that he thinks he is superior to Muslims. So they are banding together and as it becomes more apparent that Bush is a paper tiger, they grow more vocal in their opposition. Nothing good will come of it.

I know it's tempting to make predictions. We all like to think we can predict the future from the current situation. But frankly I think there are too many moving parts... stuff that we as Americans can't hope to understand. The parts are all going to interact... probably with a LOT of violence, and sometime in the far future there is going to be a settling period, when things become clear.

What I do know is that Bush Inc. took a relatively stable region and turned it on it's head. That supplies the lifeblood of our economy. We're already paying a significant price... but it could get hugely more expensive. He has no clue or respect for consequences.
