I've been looking at Fidelity. I like the fact that they are a huge institution (now that I've got a bunch of cash), plus the fact that they are not going to get bought out like Lombard, Dean Witter, and everyone else who ended up with Harrisdirect.

I stopped in at the local Scottrade branch yesterday to get their shpeel, but I think Scottrade will be sucked up relatively soon also. I'd go to direct access like trade station, but I don't trade quite enough to warrant the monthly cost. I definitely don't want to get into ameritrade. It's not much different than etrade. Don't know much about Interactive Brokers or Options Express, but have heard good things about both.

Scottrade said they need seven days without trading to transfer the account. I assume everyone else is comparable on that issue. Yikes, I might get the DTs if I have to do that.
