Canadian Elections All About --- The "Tar Sands Project" In Alberta

Yeah, I know your scratching your head at the headline, but according to Al Gore, that's why "ultra-conservative" Stephen Harper won the election. That, and of course, Kyoto.

Quote:

<<< Canadians, Gore said, should vigilantly keep watch over prime minister-designate Stephen Harper because he has a pro-oil agenda and wants to pull out of the Kyoto accord -- an international agreement to combat climate change.

"The election in Canada was partly about the tar sands projects in Alberta." Gore said Wednesday while attending the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. "And the financial interests behind the tar sands project poured a lot of money and support behind an ultra-conservative leader in order to win the election . . . and to protect their interests." >>>

Uh, OK there Al. Is Tipper withholding the meds again? Notice there's no mention of the Liberal Party kleptocracy and corruption scandals. To Al Gore, it's all about the "tar sands project", which is certain to become the Canadian version of "Area 51". Geez, with friends like Gore and Michael Moore, Canada's liberal party doesn't need enemies. Why do I think that Al Gore's next move is going to be a call for Agents Scully and Mulder to investigate both the NSA surveillance program and the Canadian elections?
