See my answer to Mish. Message 22108963 Now you don't like BLS data because it doesn't conform to your perception of reality ? It's not a matter of like or dislike, it doesn't conform to the BLS data that covers total compensation. You may not like the idea that the non-cash compensation goes to pay what you see as an inflated cost like medical insurance, but it does have a cash value. Suppose an employer offered you either fully covered medical insurance or an increase in salary to compensate you to buy your own, what would you tell them if they asked you to come up with a figure?
