In the scene I mentioned, when the girl tells Cruise she has aids, he just morphs into that ever so familiar vacant stare...the one where you can hear the sound of air whistling around in his brain...while he grins foolishly -g-

I told my wife at the time that I thought Kubrick cast Cruise because all he had to do was act naturally. LOL!
