Technically/statistically a walk through any American city at nighttime or a drive down an American highway is far far more dangerous to one's health and well being than any derranged terrorist. I think we ought to take terrorism seriously. But I definitely don't think we should ruin our democracy and way of life over one incident that took 3,000 lives in one day in 2001. We lose 5,000 Americans to unsafe highway every month! 10,000 people per year to gun violence. Now, those are problems the federal government should be addressing if they really cared about us.
