<OFF TOPIC> RE: Volatility & Options Pricing.

An analyst who was on CNBC the other day said that this year was the most volatile year in history of the stock market and that as such, options were now more "expensive" than ever. He also mentioned an index which displayed said expensivity, though I cannot recall what it was. Can anyone(Tito, this means you) tell me what index he was looking at and how it measures the expensivity of options? TIA

Brian
