People have so many lies coming at them so many ways EVERY DAY that the President will be able to stand up and make the State of the Union address and promise things that he has already promised, (and yet delivered their OPPOSITE), and still people will act as if he should be taken seriously. At the end, there will be a tumultuous standing ovation from the GOP members and 99% to 100% of the Dems will be on their feet clapping as well (for fear that they would be seen as unpatriotic by not applauding a "War President" and thus "giving comfort to the enemy"). Now the Dems could decide simply NOT TO BE THERE. They could decide NEVER to applaud. They could decide to remain in their seats instead of standing. Likely they will do NONE of these things. Maybe it will be different. We will see. What does it matter, anyway? It is all spin, stage management and BS. Was there EVER a time when the State of the Union address actually meant something? How far back would we have to go? Right now it is just an exercise in SURREALISM. Namaste! Jim
